Full Description

An axe of pale grey stone, 5.6ins long by 2.5 ins in maximum breadth, found at Achintoul (NC 873335) Kinbrace, under 8ft. of peat, is in Dunrobin Museum, probably received in 1868. (Acc No. 1868.1). Information from A S Henshall (Dunrobin museum catalogue) to OS 1966

The axehead was catalogued during an inventory of Dunrobin Castle Museum's collection in 2019 by ARCH. Listed under Acc. No. 1868.1. It is on display with a replica haft in case 26, shelf B. <1>
