Full Description

NC85SE 13 889 520.

Centred at NC 889 520 on a change of slope overlooking a small valley to the south is a settlement of four simple hut circles ('A' - 'D').
'A' is set on the crest of the slope. It is about 6.0m in diameter within a wall spread to 1.5m. Part of the north arc has been destroyed by erosion and a track. Contiguous slabs on edge, up to 0.4m high, mark the outer face in the east. The entrance is in the south.
'B' and 'C' are set slightly into the slope and are similar in appearance. Both are poorly defined with peat and heather-obscured walls spread to 2.0m. They measure about 9.5m in diameter internally, with entrances in the south arcs.
'D' is 9.5m SE-NW by 8.0m within a peat and heather-obscured wall spread to 2.0m. The entrance is in the south-east.
A few sporadic clearance heaps are the only indication of contemporary cultivation in the vicinity.
Surveyed at 1/2500 and 1/10,000.
Visited by OS (J B) 9 June 1977.
