Full Description

NC85NE 10 8905 5934.

At NC 8905 5934, on an undulating SE-facing slope, is a stone-walled hut circle within an ill-preserved minor field system. The hut is 7.5m in diameter within a wall obcured by heather, spread to 1.5m, and 0.2m high. The entrance, of simple form, is in the ESE arc; a large slab slightly displaced occurs on the north side of the entrance.
Some 85.0m north of the hut is a platform 12.5m N-S by 10.5m E-W set into a fairly steep slope. It may be a hut, but the lack of any stone around the front apron renders this doubtful.
Cultivation is restricted to the dry rises and gently shelving parts of the hill slope which are comparatively stone-free. A few clearance heaps and some linear clearance occurs alongside the formerly cultivated patches, but no measurable plots are discernible.
Surveyed at 1:10 000.
Visited by OS (N K B) 27 June 1977.
