Full Description
NC84SE 3 894 432.
At NC 8941 4321 and NC 8931 4323, situated on separate knolls are two oval hut circles (A and B respectively). They are in a similar state of preservation, each with a collapsed wall overgrown with turf and heather, surviving to a height of 0.2m and spread to 2.0m.
'A' measures internally 11.0m NNW-SSE by 9.0m transversely with the entrance in the SSE arc.
'B' is 9.0m NE-SW by 7.5m transversely with a SW entrance.
The area around the huts is relatively stone-free in places, and there are several low turf-covered mounds some of which are almost certainly clearance heaps indicating former cultivation probably contemporary with the hut circles.
Surveyed at 1:2500.
Visited by OS (N K B) 7 November 1980.
