Cairn (NR) OS 25"map, (1976)
At NC 8984 6387 is a cairn measuring about 26m diameter, reduced by robbing to a heather-covered stony platform averaging 1m high. About 4m in from N edge is an upright slab facing ENE-WSW and measuring 1.1m long by 0.3m thick which protrudes from debris to a height of 0.7m. Its purpose is uncertain.
Surveyed at 1:2500. Visited by OS (A A) 1 November 1972.
This cairn is generally as described by OS field surveyor (AA). The slab is aligned roughly radial to centre of cairn. It is possibly part of an entrance passage, although there is no other evidence to suggest a chambered cairn.
Visited by OS (J B) 21 June 1977.
(NC 898 640) ? Broch. Diameter 20m. Massive walls.
R J Mercer 1980.
A cairn. No evidence of walls. Visited by OS (N K B) 8 July 1981.
