St Malie is commemorated in a well, Tobat Malaig, below Melwich. This is probably Mairie, one of the Figg Martyrs, for Mairie naturally develops into Malie in accordance with the Gaelic emphony.
A MacKay 1914.
This well, still known locally as 'Tobat Malaig', is a natural spring which issues through a small revetment of dry-stone walling at the foot of a slope.
Surveyed at 1:2500. isited by OS (A A) 7 November 1972.
No change to previous field report.
