OS 6"map, (1964)
Three hut circles were found during field investigation.
Visited by OS (W D J) 18 May 1960.
This is a settlement of five stone-walled hut circles; two additional huts (D and E) being found, in association with a minor field system. The situation is on the upper SW-facing slopes of a hill in moorland. The huts are greatly reduced and overgrown with heather, and few details remain of their construction. They vary in internal size from 5.5m in diameter to 12.0 by 11.0m within a tumbled wall 0.4m maximum height and spread to between 2.0m and 3.0m wide. The entrance in all cases is in the SE arc which in the oval huts, is the longer axis. In A and C this entrance is distinctly splayed.
Contemporary cultivation is limited to a scatter of stone clearance heaps, mainly to the north of hut A, and one or two field walls and lynchets. There are no measurable plots to be seen.
Surveyed at 1:10,560.
Visited by OS (J M) 14 May 1976.
