Full Description

NC91NE 8 9579 1908.
Enclosure (NR) OS 6" map, (1964)

An enclosure (A) found during field work.
Visited by OS (W D J) 13 May 1960.

This hut-circle set on a small natural terrace over-looking the SW, is poorly preserved. It has been about 12.5m diameter inside a wall now reduced to a 2.5m spread of turf-overgrown rubble; an entrance is not discernible. About 20m to ESE is a further mutilated hut visible as a levelled, circular area some 13m diameter, best distinguished by apparent build-up of SW arc. Contemporary cultivation is noted by occasional stone clearance heap on hill slopes to NW, but any further signs would be destroyed or overlaid by intrusion from S of post-medieval settlement.
Revised at 1/10,000. Visited by OS (J M) 21 April 1976.
