Heritage along the Kyle Line

Between 2010 and 2012 people along the Dingwall to Kyle railway line met to learn about and research the heritage along the route. Sessions were held at Lochcarron (to cover the stretch between Kyle and Strathcarron), Achnasheen (for Strathcarron to Lochluichart) and Dingwall (for Lochluichart to Dingwall). Each group produced a display, and the results have been joined together at the Friends of the Kyle Line museum on Kyle Station. Binders of information were also deposited at the Friends of the Kyle Line museum (a full set), Kyle Library (part 1), Plockton Library (part 2), Lochcarron Library (parts 1 and 2), Dingwall Library (part 3) and Dingwall Museum (part 3). A final class met to pull the material together, produce a leaflet, MP3 commentaries and a display about Dingwall Station, which celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2012.
