EHG11 - Archaeological survey - Corrimony RSPB Reserve
Technique(s)
Organisation
Cannich Archaeological Services
Date
Sept-Nov 1999
Description
A survey was carried out of parts of the RSPB reserve at Corrimony prior to tree-planting. The purpose of the survey was to identify any sites of arcaheological interest and to mark and record them, so that any disturbance to them could be avoided. Care was taken to cover all the ground, but high bracken cover in some areas may well have obscured some sites. A total of 31 features were identified ranging in date from the Bronze Age to the 19th or 20th centuries, including a number to which no date can be assigned. <1>
Most of the features identified by this survey have not yet been indexed on the HER. <2>
