Date

Jan 2006

Description

Archaeological investigation was carried out in the form of four test pits in January 2006 by Archaeological and Ancient Landscape Survey in an attempt to find evidence of Iain Ghairbh's Torr (tower) in the walled garden at Raasay House. Whilst fragmentary remains of walls were uncovered showing multiple structures, one of which was a substanital and well built structure, it remains unclear if these were remnants of the tower. <1>
