Technique(s)
PHOTOGRAPHIC SURVEY, WATCHING BRIEF
Organisation
Highland Archaeology Services Ltd
Date
2005
Description
An archaeological watching brief and rapid photographic survey was carried out on behalf of the Nigg Old Trust in connection with repairs and renovations undertaken to Nigg Old Church during the autumn and winter of 2005. Drainage works within the churchyard revealed no archaeological features or finds of significance, since they took place within areas of previous disturbance. Some details of the fabric of the church became visible with the removal of small areas of harling, and these were photographed. There are no recommendations for follow-up work apart from similarly monitoring any future repairs or works. <1>
