Description

A desk-based assessment of the ruin of the former Free Church at Jamestown, near Strathpeffer, was carried out by Highland Archaeology Services in 2010 in advance of the proposed conversion of the ruin for accomodation purposes. This concluded that the present ruins were of a church built in c.1861 possibly on the site of an earlier church that had burnt down. <1>
