Date

April 2008

Description

A desk-based assessment and walkover survey was carried out by Highland Archaeology Services in April 2008 at Druim fada, Alt Camas Na H-atha, Corpach, in advance of a proposed windfarm development. The proposed turbines are to be located on moorland. No archaeological features were recorded but the peat that overlies the area may preserve buried evidence. The line of the proposed access road has not yet been advised so this assessment only covered the turbine sites.A desk-based visual impact assessment was also undertaken which indicated that the turbines are likely to be visible from Fort William. Their likely impact on the visual setting and archaeological landscape context of other sites and monuments is considered insignificant. <1> <2>
