Description
Headland Archaeology Ltd conducted an evaluation at a proposed housing development site off Ness Road, Fortrose in order to satisfy a planning condition placed by Highland Council. The work was commissioned by Tulloch Homes Ltd. Seven trenches were excavated within Phase 1a and Phase 1b of the development. This revealed a number of modern pits containing fragments of 18th and 19th-century pottery, possibly relating to agricultural or quarrying activity. No archaeological features, deposits or artefacts of significance were revealed during these investigations. <1>
