EHG3622 - Watching brief, Balnatink, Dunbeath

Technique(s)

Organisation

Archaeology North Ltd

Date

November 2011

Description

Archaeological monitoring took place during a controlled topsoil strip prior to installation of a small wind turbine and associated cable trench. A premilinary assessment of the known archaeological resource noted several important sites in the vicinity, but no significant archaeological deposits or features were encountered during excavations. In the region of the buildings north of Balnatink farmstead abundant stones were found in the topsoil and were evidently derived from the buildings. A superficial record of these buildings was made during the course of the watching brief. <1><2>
