EHG50 - Walkover Survey - Salacher, Applecross

In May 1999, Catherine Dagg carried out an archaeological survey of the areas of a proposed WGS at North Applecross, Wester Ross. It was subsequently decided to add a further area, Salacher, to the original seven areas, and Scottish Woodland Ltd. commissioned an archaeological survey of this further area. The survey was carried out on July 6th 1999, in sunny conditions. It was noted that the bracken on this occasion, while acting as an indicator of disturbed or improved ground, had grown so tall as to obscure features beneath it. As in the original survey, the areas immediately outwith the proposed fenceline were included in the archaeological survey. <1>
