Description
A desk-based assessment and walkover survey were undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group in 2015-16 of Glen Tromie. The survey was undertaken between December 2015 and March 2016. 161 individual archaeological sites were recorded, including post-medieval settlement, shieling sites, enclosures and boundary dykes, clearance cairns, shooting butts and other relics of estate management. A further area was walked over on 17th June 2016. 19 more sites were added to the record consisting mainly of turf and stone structures and banks and shooting butts. <1>
