Technique(s)
Organisation
AOC Archaeology Group
Date
Aug 2018
Description
Archaeological walkover surveys were undertaken by AOC Archaeology in 2018 along the route of two new underground cables between Docharn to Boat of Garten and Boat of Garten to Nethy Bridge. A total of 13 archaeological sites were recorded including the 12th/13th century Tom Pitlac motte, a hut circle, a possible kiln, a memorial cairn and other post-medieval buildings and field clearance. None of the sites are expected to be directly impacted by the cable trenching. Archaeological monitoring was recommended near the site of Tom Pitlac motte, a Scheduled Monument. <1>
