Technique(s)
Organisation
AOC Archaeology Group
Date
Sept 2019
Description
A watching brief undertaken by AOC Archaeology Group in 2019 during ground investigation works at Murkle Bay, Caithness associated with proposed subsea cable connections between Caithness and Hoy, Orkney. The watching brief was required due to the location of the site within a rich archaeological landscape, an area with the potential for the survival of sub-surface remains. The excavation of three trial pits was monitored by an archaeologist during the ground investigation works. No archaeological features were uncovered. <1>
