Date
May 2023
Description
A walkover survey was conducted by Argyll Archaeology in 2023 over a parcel of land around Choire Nam Muc, Sallachan, Lochaber, in advance of the proposed construction of a hydropower scheme. A survey in advance of the scheme had previously been carried out in 2018 (see EHG5535). Twelve features were recorded within the general confines of the scheme and these comprised stone walls/banks, cultivation remains (clearance cairns and rig), a structure and various enclosures. Only the stone wall (Site 1) is shown on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey Map (Sheet Argyllshire XXIX 1875). <1>
