Technique(s)
Organisation
North Highland Archaeology
Date
July 1995
Description
A watching brief was carried out by North Highland Archaeology in 1995 during the removal of a collapsed stone dyke at the ruined settlement of Badan Dubh, Kingussie and Insh. The dyke was removed to allow the straightening and widening of an existing access track. Material was removed by mecahnical excavator working perpendicular to the line of the dyke. This produced clear sections through the dyke, three of which were closely investigated, sketched and photographed. <1>
