Full Description

An archaeological walkover survey was undertaken by Wordsworth Archaeological Services in 1996 at Claggersnich Farm, Cromdale.

An extensive spread of substantial clearance cairns covering an area up to 400m by 200m lie concealed in heather moorland. In some cases they appear to define small fields while elsewhere they appear to be dumped at random. The South West end has been affected by the developments connected with site 12. The extent is shown on Fig 2. <1>
