Full Description

An archaeological walkover survey was undertaken by Wordsworth Archaeological Services in 1996 at Claggersnich Farm, Cromdale.

A group of clearance cairns similar in form to those recorded at site 2 (see MHG15094) lie to the west of the old road line and burn and extend towards Fuaranbuie. There is no distinct southern edge to this group. It fades out as the ground falls towards the burn, although a number of grassy rabbit mounds may mark further cairns. They lie outside the managed area, though animals from Caggersnich graze in this area.. It is unclear whether they lay in land managed by Corshellach or Fuaranbuie. <1><2>

NGR adjusted based on 1999-2001 vertical aerial photographs. <3>
