Full Description
An archaeological walkover survey was undertaken by Wordsworth Archaeological Services in 1996 at Claggersnich Farm, Cromdale.
The remains of an 80m stretch of dyke can be seen here and are shown as a dotted line on the current OS map. No trace of it extending further to the NW could be seen and it is unclear why it was built. It was not shown on the 1st OS survey. It was presumably connected with the settlement at site 9. Cairns 11 extended either side of it as shown. <1>
NGR adjusted based on 1999-2001 vertical aerial photographs. <2>
Note; NGR in report incorrect. (TB 9/9/26)
