An unroofed building is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Sutherland 1878, sheet xv). The building is shown as roofed on the current edition OS 1:10,560 map (1961). On the raised beach, at the back of a small bay, lies a recent building. It stands on a low grassy mound, which extends 3 m E-W and 1-2 m N-S of the building. The building stands to its full height, and measures 8.25 m long by 5 m wide. It is roofed with corroding corrugated iron. It was built about the turn of the 20th century by the father of the present occupant of Kempie. The building has begun to collapse at the east facing wall, where a pile of rubble lies. <1>
