Full Description

A township comprising thirty-five roofed buildings, one partially roofed, one unroofed building and two enclosures is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire 1880, sheet cix). Twenty-one roofed buildings, two partially roofed buildings, four unroofed buildings and four enclosures are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1971).
Information from RCAHMS (AKK) 25 April 1996.

The greater part of the original buildings of the township, as marked on the edition ordnance Survey map, are now ruinous and replaced by modern housing. The pipeline passes through and close to a number of these original buildings, particularly where it enters the village from the north and turns SE. As the pipeline leaves the village to the SE, a number of footings of buildings lie between the road and the shore. <1>
