Full Description
The walled garden at Scatwell was listed at Category C with Scatwell House in 1981.
The gardens at Scatwell were added to the Inventory of Gardens and Designed Landscapes of Scotland in 1987. <1>
Woodlands extend on both sides of the road, but do not appear to be heavily managed. The area on NE side of the house is policty woodland and then river flats used for sheep grazing. The outer extent appears to have flood defence banks in places. The S boundary onto the road is walled to medium height, rough shaped stones, but in good condition. No walling on the other side of the road - HAW 06/2005
Following re-assessment by Historic Scotland, the gardens were removed from the Inventory in 2015. <2>
