There is a boulder with a number of cup-markings on its upper surface, situated on a moderately steep NNW-facing slope. <1>

This panel was recorded as part of the ScRAP (Scotland’s Rock Art project) by members of NoSAS in November 2020. The panel overlooks the broad flat valley of the River Spey, from about 50m up a steep north facing slope, on a slight spur. It is situated in moorland in an area with sparse birch trees, and thickets of juniper and broom. The more open areas are largely covered in bracken.

The panel is a large boulder of brown gritty psammite, 4.5m x 3.5m and 2.6m high at the north end. The motifs are all on the top surface of the rock, which has a north-south cleavage, and some of them are in rows reflecting the rock structure. A section of the rock at the east is separated from the main rock by a deep fissure, and has 9 cups, 7 of which are joined. The main (west) part of the panel has 20 single cups, a dumbell, a groove, a cup-and-groove motif which respect the 'grain' of the rock, and one prominent cup-and-groove motif which cuts across it. When located, the whole boulder was thickly covered in mosses and lichens of various sorts. The sloping area at the west was carefully examined and no motifs found, and the area was not cleared. <2>
