This site is described in detail in the report on a walkover survey carried out in October 1999 by Wordsworth Archaeology Services in advance of a proposed Woodland Grant Scheme. It is described as a substantial settlement with three buildings shown roofed on the 1st edition OS map, surrounded by improved grassland. In 1999 the visible remains comprised a rectangular longhouse and four other buildings/structures. There were also two cairns, one fairly substantial, the footings of a dyke and a post and rail sheepfank. <1>
