Technique(s)
Organisation
Wordsworth Archaeological Services
Date
Oct 1999
Description
A rapid archaeological survey was conducted by Wordsworth Archaeological Services in 1999 in the area around Ladycairn, Dochfour, in connection with a proposed woodland grant scheme. No desk-bound research was carried out other than obtaining the 1st edition OS map. The whole area was not examined but an extensive search was carried out, including looking at the area to the south on the slopes of Creag na h-Eigheachd and Carn a' Bhodaich. No certain prehistoric or medieval remains were found but a number of later sites were recorded, some of which may have had early origins. <1>
