Full Description

A township which has three foci, comprising forty-one roofed buildings, two unroofed buildings and two lengths of head-dyke is depicted on the 1st edition of the OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire 1880, sheet cix). Thirty-six roofed buildings, one partially roofed building and four unroofed buildings are shown on the current edition of the OS 1:10000 map (1972).
Information from RCAHMS (AKK) 25 April 1996.

NG 7144 3887 Building. One unroofed building is marked on the 1st editio Ordnance Survey map. This would appear to be on the same location as the present inhabited building
NG 7147 3859 Clachan. This eastern cluster of buildings seems to form a separate clachan although not separately named. The lower 'street' of buildings is now mostly ruinous. The pipeline passes through these without apparently having caused damage to any of the buildings.
NG 7119 3855 Clachan The western cluster of dwellings, consisting mostly of a row of buildings running parallel to the road, with more substantial dwellings and farm buildings to the north. Again, the pipeline seems to have managed to have run through these buildings without causing visible damage to any of the features. <1>
