The Priory was listed at Category A in 1971.

Beauly Priory is as described in the attached guide. It is under the care of the Dept of Environment and open to the general public.

Monumental inscription survey completed by A G Beattie & M H Beattie. The survey may not include inscription information after 1855 and each inscription transcribed does not give the full details that appear on the stones, abbreviations used. Some ommissions and inacuracies may be encountered. First published 1993, reprinted 1994. <1>

The priory and its surrounding graveyard were scheduled by Historic Scotland in 1995.

Church now roofless.

The statutory designations for the site were reassessed by Historic Environment Scotland in 2018 as part of their national Dual Designations Project. It was proposed that the site would be delisted but that it would remain a Scheduled Monument. <2>

The proposed designation changes by Historic Environment Scotland came into effect as of 12/03/2018. <3>
