Full Description
Centred at NH 550 354 on a S-facing slope is a settlement of four huts (A to D) with field system.
Each hut is set into the slope and is formed by a stone wall spread to c. 2.5m all round. The measurements are given between wall centres.
Hut 'A' is oval and measures c. 11.0m NNW to SSE by c. 7.0m transversely. The 'simple' entrance c. 1.2m wide, is in the SSE. It has similarities to the "long houses" at Drummadrochit (NH 53 SW 7).
'B' is circular and measures c. 9.0m in diameter. The entrance is not evident.
'C' is oval and measures c. 12.5m N to S by c. 10.5m transversely. The W side has been mutilated by a pile of stones tipped into the interior. The entrance is not evident.
'D'is circular and measures c. 8.5m in diameter. The entrance is not evident. The field system is defined by stone clearance heaps with a few walls and lynchets, but details are obscured by heather.

The field system and the most NE of the hut circles ('B') has recently been ploughed prior to afforestation by Scottish Woodlands-Inverness. Mrs. Stewart (Mrs F C Stewart, School House, Abriachan) drew the attention of the forester to the huts in time to save the others from being ploughed through. She found in one of the plough furrows on 21.10.73. a large flint scraper (about 5" long) and intends to display it in her small museum near the site.
