Mine (ironstone) with windmill at this GR on 1st ed OS. "old shaft (iron)" lies to N at 298435 964904 beside the road - HAW 5/2003

(Location cited as NC 987 647) Achavrasdale: This iron mine in Caithness appeared to be working until 1873.
Grampian Speloeological Group (2008)

The surface buildings are depicted as roofed and named on the Ordnance Survey 1st-edition, 25-inch map (Caithness, 1878) as 'Mine (Ironstone)'. The railway line spur appears to have been dismantled.
