Full Description
Centred at NJ 062 220 on a generally W facing slope at about 1350ft OD is a field system marked by stone clearance heaps and lynchets. Two fields measured 40.0m x 15.0m and 20.0m x 10.0m.
Visited by OS (A A) 28 February 1972.
A series of cairns from 4 to 7 m in diameter and up to 0.5 m high are located on the ridge to the east of Lynebreck (Plate 4). One hundred cairns were located during the survey, but the cairnfield continues some 100 m beyond the WGS boundary to the north and the estimated total number of cairns in the cairnfield is around 130.
Condition: Although low, most of the cairns are clearly visible, especially in areas of recent muirburn. <1>
