I G Whittaker 1998.
The location assigned to this record is essentially tentative. The Dunnet Sands are not noted as such on the 1999 edition of the OS 1:50,000 map; the name presumably applies to the extensive area of sands that is depicted around the SE end of Dunnet Bay.
Information from RCAHMS (RJCM), 8 May 2007.
