A World War II type 27 pillbox has been identified from a RAF WWII oblique aerial photographs (241D, frames 12 -13, flown 1 April 1941), situated at the northern edge of the grass airfield in an area annotated by the Ordnance Survey as 'The Longman'.
The pillbox has now been removed.
