MHG54343 - Boundary wall, Rogie
Summary
An old boundary wall.
Type and Period (1)
- BOUNDARY DYKE (Post Medieval - 1560 AD to 1900 AD)
Protected Status
- None recorded
Full Description
Earlier boundary wall superceded by Site 14 and parallel to same; aligned NW-SE, probably a continuation of Site 19. 1.0m wide (spread), 0.2m high.
The line of the boundary wall is depicted as on the 1st edition OS 6-inch map, and probably represents this turf/stone bank which was a predecessor to the later high drystone wall. It also seems to represent the same settlement boundary that the similar wall at Site 19 marked. <1><2>
