Full Description

Some airfield perimeter fencing was noted by ARCH's Evanton Wartime Remains project in 2013. Remains of the perimeter pickets (stakes) and barbed wire fencing were found in places in the woods at the north side of the RAF accommodation camp. The barbed wire and ‘pig’s tails’ uprights (pickets) survived in a number of places. These were designed to be screwed into the earth. The pillbox near the railway (MHG 47881) was outside the perimeter. <1>
