Full Description
486 A large enclosure located on the gentle SE facing slope of the fertile outwash of the Allt Creagan nam Gobhar occupying a terrace 200m to the NW of the River Meig was recorded by NOSAS in 2007 as part of the Scotland's Rural Past Project. The NW section of the enclosure is stone built but is turf and stone in the E part, whilst the S section adjacent the burn appears to have been entirely washed away. A smaller stone walled enclosure stone with the footings of a small rectangular building is formed within and against the N side (Sites 488/9 see MHG57379 ). Within the enclosure is a sheiling (Site 485 see MHG57381). <1>
