190834 841773 North of Kirkton 1 PS003: The hut circle was visited by A Welti and P Swan in 2009 as part of research for a dissertation on hut circles in Wester Ross. This was part of a degree course overseen by Aberdeen University. The circular HC sits on a platform in a gently sloping landscape. The structure is mostly submerged by moss grass and bracken. Average internal diameter is 6.4m. External diameter of 11.8m (very approximate) could only be measured in one direction. Double skinned wall thickness was 1.5m, max wall height was 0.75m. No entrance was discernable. This HC may be associated with PS002, North of Kirkton 2, which is sited 100m downslope (see MHG33084). <3> <4>
