Full Description

Allt a’Chuirn
This place name pertains to the lower ground south of Barrisdale House and east of the Barrisdale River. Here a possible still site was recorded at the foot of a gorge off the main river, and a few other buildings close to the river. These sites were recorded by NOSAS in 2004 as part of an archaeological survey of Inner Loch Hourn.

Site: 454. An area of cultivation remains, possibly lazy beds within a turf dyke enclosure, c. 0.2ha in size, above and near to the track. <1>
