Full Description
At NH 08039152, 30m W of the track to Kildonan Farm stands a monolith, 1.4m high, 1m wide by 0.2m thick with its main axis N-S, and inclined in an easterly direction. According to local informant (Miss McNorton, Ardnessie, Dundonnell, Little Lochbroom) opinion is divided as to the purpose of this stone, some regard it as a sanctuary stone of early monastic establishment ( NH 09 SE 1 ), others as a prehistoric standing stone.
Visited by OS (R B) 5 October 1964
This standing stone was visited during the course of a pre-afforestation survey by J Wordsworth and remains the same as is described above. The report includes photographs of the stone. <1>
