Full Description

A DBA and walkover survey were carried out by GUARD in 2009 in advance of a proposed wind farm development at Glenmorie.

Site 36: Possible shieling/shelter. Situated directly on the northern side of a recently upgraded track is a possible structure, roughly rectangular in shape measuring 10 m E-W by 6m N-S. The internal area is slightly sunken with the south side most likely being cut into the slope, appearing 1 m deep. The west side also appears to be cut into the slope and is 0.75 m deep. The north side is defined by a collapsed drystone wall while the east side is defined by a possible annex consisting of raised area approximately 3 m by 4 m in size covered in turf and moss. <1>
