EHG4464 - DBA and walkover survey - proposed Glenmorie Wind Farm
Technique(s)
Organisation
GUARD Archaeology Ltd
Date
Nov-Dec 2009
Description
A DBA and walkover survey were carried out by GUARD in 2009 as part of work for an Environmental Assessment in advance of a proposed wind farm development at Glenmorie, 10km south west of Bonar Bridge. No prehistoric or medieval sites were identified within the development area during the survey, however, 10 sites of post medieval or modern date were recorded. A total of 27 sites of cultural heritage interest were identified along the route of the proposed access track. One of these sites lay immediately adjacent to the existing track whilst a further two were within 50m. A watching brief was recommended for any ground breaking work along the access track. <1>
The cultural heritage chapter was subsequently reassessed by Northlight Heritage in 2012 following changes to the proposed scheme. <2>
