Full Description
A rapid coastal zone assessment survey was conducted by GUARD in the Autumn of 1997 commissioned by Historic Scotland from the Viking and Early Settlement Archaeological Research Project based at the University of Glasgow.
A dry-stone dyke, 0.6-0.75 m wide, on the west bank of the River Dionard estuary, as represented on the current OS 1:10 000 map. This dyke has a 2 m wide erosion spread in places and the 100-150 m long dyke is eroding into the estuary at several points. <1>
