Full Description
Site of the former house of 'Millton', Inverness, is shown on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey mapping adjacent to the River Ness just to the southwest of the site of its walled garden (see MHG65734). It was set within its own enclosed grounds with a path heading towards the walled garden. By the time of the 2nd edition OS map it had apparently been completely removed, as had the house. <1> <2>
Note: Given the proximity of 'Nesscastle Mill' (see MHG54043) to the north, later developed into and labelled 'Ness Castle Home Farm', and the name of the house 'Millton' in relation to the mill, might this originally all have been in the ownership and within the wider policies of Ness Castle?
