Full Description

A rapid coastal zone assessment survey was conducted by GUARD in the Autumn of 1997 commissioned by Historic Scotland from the Viking and Early Settlement Archaeological Research Project based at the University of Glasgow.

Probable clearance cairn associated with agricultural land-use. This cairn is 4 m in diameter and up to 1 m high and is eroding into the Kyle. There is a drained area, which probably represents part of the same agricultural landscape and within which, 30-35 m SE of this cairn, severe rabbit burrowing has exposed large stones. <1>
