Full Description
A rapid coastal zone assessment survey was conducted by GUARD in the Autumn of 1997 commissioned by Historic Scotland from the Viking and Early Settlement Archaeological Research Project based at the University of Glasgow.
Spanning the Daill River at Daill House is a wooden plank suspension footbridge. This bridge has a 25 in span supported on a concrete base at either end and built in two sections with a third supporting column in the shape of a triangular concrete platform in the middle. The bridge tread is made from three parallel planks and there is a wire hawser handrail in two sections. The wooden planks are moderately weathered and there is some rust on the handrail. <1>
